What the clinical research says about PS128
Neuralli MP provides 60 billion CFUs of L. plantarum PS128, a psychobiotic strain that affects signaling in the brain.
In four clinical studies conducted with Autistic people, those taking PS128 showed clinically meaningful improvements in several neurological and behavioral measures. (1-4)
In a pilot study with 25 Parkinson’s disease patients taking PS128 alongside their own therapies, participants noted significant improvements in motor symptoms and quality of life. (5)
Clinical improvements in anxiety (6) and depression (7) have also been noted.
What is Neuralli MP?
Neuralli MP is a medical probiotic containing the unique psychobiotic strain L. plantarum PS128 at the same amount utilized in 8 published clinical studies of neurological and
mental health conditions.
PS128 is a psychobiotic - “a live organism that when ingested in adequate amounts produces a health benefit in patients suffering from a neurological illness.”
Neuralli MP is a medical food. The term medical food, as defined in section 5(b) of the Orphan Drug Act (21 U.S.C. 360ee (b) (3)) is "a food which is formulated to be consumed or administered enterally under the supervision of a physician and which is intended for the specific dietary management of a disease or condition for which distinctive nutritional requirements, based on recognized scientific principles, are established by medical evaluation".
How PS128 works
Preclinical and clinical research suggests that PS128, the active ingredient in Neuralli MP, has both probiotic and psychobiotic effects.
Its psychobiotic effects are mediated by the gut-brain axis (GBA), allowing PS128 to influence
the central nervous system without leaving the intestinal lumen.
