Clinical Outcomes in
Parkinson’s Disease
Research supports the use of L. plantarum PS128™ in people with Parkinson’s
Neuralli® MP’s active ingredient, L. plantarum PS128™, is a probiotic strain like no other and is exclusive to Bened Life products in the U.S..
In a 12-week, open-label, baseline-controlled pilot study, patients with Parkinson’s disease who took Neuralli® MP’s PS128™ alongside their standard-of-care therapies reported significant improvements in both motor symptoms and quality of life.7
How PS128™ works in PD
Nutrients, including micronutrients like essential vitamins, minerals and amino acids support and regulate many biochemical processes in the body, often acting as important cofactors. Microbes can also act as microbe-nutrients, as dietary intake of microbes may regulate immune signaling, metabolism and brain activity including dopamine levels for example.
Possible mechanisms of action of PS128 in Parkinson’s disease are suggested by preclinical models.

Clinical Outcomes in Autism
Research supports the use of L. plantarum PS128™ in Autistic people
Neuralli® MP’s active ingredient, L. plantarum PS128™, is a probiotic strain like no other and is exclusive to Bened Life products in the U.S.
Three RCTs suggest the PS128™ probiotic strain may reduce anxiety and anxiety-like behaviors in Autistic people.1-3 In a real-world study using PS128™ or other probiotics in Autistic people, clinicians reported meaningful improvements in attention, communication and personal autonomy.4

- "Responded” relates to a CGI-I response ≤ 3, meaning clinicians observed meaningful improvements.
- "Markedly Improved” relates to a CGI-I score of 1 or 2, indicating clinicians rated patients as “much improved” or “very much improved.”
CGI-I: Clinical Global Impression - Improvement

How PS128™ may help reduce anxiety in Autistic people
Autism is often associated with higher anxiety, as well as altered brain neurotransmitters, altered immune signaling, and altered metabolism. As a microbe-nutrient in the diet, PS128 may regulate immune signaling and act on the gut-brain axis to support neurotransmitters and reduce anxiety in Autistic people.
Possible mechanisms of action of PS128 in autism are suggested by preclinical models.5,6
Fig 3.
Preclinical models suggest that PS128 may do the following:
- Support dopamine and serotonin in the prefrontal cortex5
- Reduce inflammatory cytokines such as IL-65
- Reduce cortisol in stressed conditions5
- Support gut microbiota, such as increasing Bifidobacteria, which correlated with improved behavior6
What Patients and Caregivers Are Saying
What is Neuralli® MP?
As a provider, you’ve likely worked with probiotics for years – you know they’re live microorganisms that provide health benefits when taken in adequate doses. Traditionally, most research focused on gastrointestinal effects, but in recent years, we’ve begun to understand that certain strains influence systems beyond the gut.
We now recognize that even closely related strains, like those within the species Lactiplantibacillus plantarum, can behave very differently. That’s why today’s research emphasizes strain-level identification: the function of a probiotic depends on its unique characteristics, not just its species.
Neuralli® MP’s active ingredient, L. plantarum PS128™, stands out for the diverse mechanisms through which it acts. Because PS128™ has neurological benefits, it belongs to a specialized class of probiotics called “psychobiotics,” which have been studied for their influence on the gut-brain axis.
So, what makes Neuralli® MP a medical food, not a supplement? It’s a unique category. Medical foods are formulated to be consumed under physician supervision for the specific dietary management of a disease or condition with distinct nutritional needs. Neuralli® MP meets this definition by addressing the unique nutritional requirements associated with autism and Parkinson’s disease.
Mechanistic preclinical research demonstrates the PS128™ strain helps regulate neurotransmitters, modulate immune responses, and beneficially shift gut microbiome metabolism. Together, these mechanisms support its role in managing neurological conditions—and open new possibilities for your patients.
